Born from a Love of Family & Old Florida

Gators Frozen Bananas isn't just a business—it’s a labor of love built for our son, Gator. Bananas have always been one of his absolute favorite foods, and we wanted to create something special for him that celebrates the incredible place we call home.

We are Megan and Jake Mitchem, a husband-and-wife team with a shared passion for the great outdoors. Jake is a born-and-raised Floridian who grew up exploring the Nature Coast. Megan hailed from another completely unique part of the country—the Upper Peninsula of Michigan—and moved to Florida after falling in love with the exact same natural beauty that Jake enjoys.

Keeping it Real

Too often, Florida is defined by a manufactured, refined image of theme parks and neon signs. We wanted our brand to represent the real Florida. The one locals love and tourists deserve to experience.

From the quiet swamps and rushing rivers to the crystal-clear springs, coastal beaches, and the deep blue sea—Florida is a wild, special place. That is the story we want to share with our son, Gator, and with every single customer who visits our window.

When you see our logo—a happy gator relaxing in a hammock between coconut trees, enjoying a frozen banana—or look at our trailer featuring local flora and fauna like cabbage palms, cypress trees, manatees, redfish, and turtles, you’re looking at our family’s favorite things.
